I am beginning to think I'm crazy...

So at the beginning of this whole wedding thing I knew I wanted something a little different for my invitations... well maybe not necessiarly different... I just knew exactly what I wanted. So my mom was like 'well why don't you just make them yourself' GREAT! I thought... I can have everything I want and then buy pieces when I have the time/money to work on them.

BIG MISTAKE!!!

I am DIY 150 pocket fold invitations... and when I say DIY I mean everything... even the actual pocket folds themselves! Crazy I know! I finally went out this past weekend and bought the majority of the stuff to make them and thought tonight would be the perfect time to work on them since Pat is at work until 10.

So I had all 50 sheets of Strathmore (sp?) paper in my car to take it to Fedex/Kinkos for them to cut into 19 x 6 inch strips. I called Kinkos... they don't have a paper cutter big enough to handle poster board size paper. Ok, so I'll call UPS... negative as well. Mail Depot in O'Fallon? (yes I was going to make the almost hour drive to have some freakin paper cut!) Nope, they can't do it either. My last resort was Artmart and to my suprise if I went in and cut it myself it was free! Yay for saving money!!!

So after work I go and cut 20 pieces, which makes 60 strips to assemble into pocket folds. I decided I didn't want to do all 50 Strathmore sheets at once b/c that would take too much time... Anywho, I cut my paper and 30 minutes later am on my way home. I moved my kitchen table in the living room to work on the assembling and there I sat

and sat

and sat

and sat some more working on these darn things! I worked on them from 6 to 10 with a little break to get something to eat and I only got 60 done! I HAVE 90 LEFT TO DO!!! Plus printing all 3 insert cards, the vellum with our monogram, the actual announcement, putting the ribbon on the front and the list goes on and on and on! If anyone is wanting to DIY pocket fold invitations... trust me when I say buy the pocket folds already made... yes it is more expensive but you will save yourself 10 hours per 150 of them that you do!

With that being said I cannot wait until I'm done with them all together and get to tell everyone 'look what I made!'
