just like me

So I haven't posted in a while, it's so freakin busy being me right now but hopefully after next weekend I'll be able to get back in the swing of things.

First off let me say that I'm the most clumsy person alive. Tuesday morning I get up, shower, take care of the dog, and get ready for work. Well apparently I wasn't paying attention (probably due to lack of sleep Monday night because we were at the hospital until 1 am playing with our friends new baby) AND FELL DOWN THE STAIRS!

Picture this: I am walking down to the garage to get in my car, 5 stairs left to go, I suddenly realize that my foot is bent backwards and here I go tumbling down the stairs. Of course they are the only set in our complex without carpet and I land on the concrete floor at the bottom. Just laying there as I try to figure out what just happened. I immediately start crying, I cannot feel my foot and I'm afraid to look. I take my phone out to call FH, since he's already left for work, sobbing I tell him he has to come pick me up because I think I broke my foot.

I then look down to check out the damage, the whole top of my foot is cut to heck and is starting to swell... quickly. Pat comes and picks me up as my foot is tingling and numb and we go to urgent care. 3 x-rays & 3 hours later and they tell me it's just a sprain. WHEW!

My foot now looks like a balloon, I have a huge purple/green bruise on my elbow, and the top of my foot is missing a bunch of skin, however it hasn't started to really bruise yet which makes me think it's gonna be real pretty within the next couple of days. Oh and I get to wear a nice fashionable boot to top it all off.

The highlight of my day, however, was while sitting in the urgent care, Pat looked over and said, "Remind me the next time I get a scrape to call you." I swear he thinks he's soooo funny sometimes :o)

You can see a little bit of brusing but not much.... yet....

moving... again...

Well after my 'pissy' post I had a serious talk with FH about how we can save money
& our conclusion was that we can't while in our current situation.... FANTASTIC!!! We spoke with him mom who told us that we shouldn't have to worry about all the wedding stuff because they will help us with that IF we do x, y, & z for them, no thanks. I need to know what is being paid for, not what might be paid for if FH and I behave.

Now this brings us up to today :o) We are currently in the process of going through all of our stuff and getting rid of EVERYTHING we don't need/want anymore, and boxing everything up for our move to... drum roll please.... my mom's house. How NOT exciting!! We will be living in O'Fallon and driving to Clayton everyday for work/school. It really kills me that we are doing this but I am really trying to look at the bright side of things for once. It is going to be a huge adjustment on everyone's parts but I'm focusing on the good :o)

1. Their basement is bigger than our apartment.
2. We have a HUGE bedroom and living room.
3. We have our own kitchen and bathroom.
4. They have a big yard for my puppy so he can run around with the other dogs, the walkout basement door even has a doggy door in it :o)
5. We will be saving, on average, $800 a month.
6. Pat will still have a garage spot for the Mustang.

I just think it will get a little crazy with 7 people, 8 dogs, 5 birds and a snake haha We are going over this weekend to move the computer room downstairs so we can move my little brother upstairs so we can start moving our stuff in. It is going to be exhausting, tiring, and stressful... I can't wait to have it all done with!!! T minus 16 days & counting.....

I LOVE HOUSE!

Seriously I am obsessed!

Last season ended with Amber dying because of House, well not really, it wasn't his fault. If she wasn't so headstrong she wouldn't of been on the bus but whatev... what's done is done. It was the saddest episode ever, all I could think about was how I would feel if something like that happened to Pat. I think I would want to die.

Anyways... Last night Wilson told everyone he was leaving. First of all HOW PREDICTABLE! Did anyone really think this wasn't going to happen? Now no one except House, Cuddy, and Foreman are going to be left from the original cast. Yes, Chase and Cameron are still around but it's just not the same. It really seems like the show is on a downward spiral. House lost his team and now he is losing his best friend. Wilson and House are beyond perfect for each other, now who will replace him? I hope they aren't thinking about replacing Wilson because that just won't happen!

I will say that I do like the three new doctors that make up the team but not NEARLY as much as the old trio. I loved the tension between House and Cameron, and it's just not the same with the new kids. I am really growing fond of Taub though. Last night he really showed his smart ass side and it was hysterical. I can't wait for next week.... What's going to happen to 13 because of her Huntingtons? Is Wilson seriously leaving?

pissy

So now that Pat and I should be doing some serious planning I'm just so pissy about the wedding and really don't even want to talk about it. There is a list of problems a mile long and I feel like there is no way I can do it all, especially by myself!

1. MOH is MIA and has been for the past, ohhh, 3 months. She all of a sudden moves to a different state without telling me, ok fine, good for her. Then we stopped talking, ok, maybe she's busy. Then David's Bridal calls me to tell me she hadn't ordered her dress yet... WHAT? Seriously? She had like 2 months at home to go order it and now she's in a different state and still hasn't ordered it. So I text her and asked her if she is sure she can get off work for the wedding and she said yes. Ok, do you still want to be in it? Of course she says yes and then replies that she's "not going to be able to help much with the wedding, if at all" Wow thanks for that! Now I don't want to ask my other BM to help because that's really not their role as far as I'm concerned. Sooo frustrating... really I'd rather her tell me she doesn't want to be in it just so I can move on.

2. No money... We have to pay for most of the little things, which are starting to add up really quickly. $400 for favors, $150 for church decorations, $700 for limo, $500 for band, and we still owe the photographer money!!! So $2000 in less than 6 months with only 1 person's income. I seriously just want to scream sometimes!!!!

3. Our band won't reply to us. We are kind of their friends so I asked them to send me a list of their songs over a week ago and I still haven't heard anything back from them. It wouldn't worry me except for the fact that they don't want/need us to have a contract. I know in my gut I'm going to be looking for a dj a month before the wedding.

4. No honeymoon, really? That's part of the fun of getting married, and I'm really starting to believe that my honeymoon will consist of me sitting at home watching tv for the week that I'm off work. How frustrating!!!

I just want to cry... I don't see how it's all going to work and it's causing more stress than it's worth. At the end of the day it should be about my love for Pat and his love for me but that's not how it seems right now. The only thing that can even put a smile on my face right now is my bpics that are next Sunday but even that is kind of depressing because I'm spending more money than I have and I really wanted to get my hair done b/c it is starting to look like crap and I'm not going to be able to do that either. Ahhhh! I think I need a super strong drink :o(

I did this...

AND LOVE IT!

I have been so white and pasty lately but I don't have the time/money for regular tanning beds right now so I decided to try the mystic tan. I have less than 2 weeks before my bpics (YAY!) and needed some color so I did some research and went ahead and gave it a shot.

First of all I want to say that I have never been to a Tan Co. b/c I think they are way overpriced but I called around and they are the cheapest for Mystic Tanning purposes. $15 for one tan or $25 for 2, however you have to use both within 10 days... anywho I go up there hoping not to look like Ross Geller when I'm done and the girl was AWESOME! She went back with me and showed me everything I ever wanted to know about spray tans.

THE GOOD:
1. Seriously takes like 30 seconds after you prep yourself and get in the booth.
2. Insta-tan rather than not seeing results with the tanning beds for a couple weeks or so.
3. Doesn't make you sweat like tanning beds.
4. No real smell, you don't feel so disgusting that you must go home and shower immediately.
5. Pretty cheap when you figure at Tan Co. it would be $15 for 10 minutes in a level 3 bed.
6. Lasts on average 5 to 7 days.
7. Looks natural... no one would look at me and think 'Man she needs to stop fake baking'

THE BAD:
1. If you don't know what you are doing it could be disastrous. You have to make sure you put on enough of the lotion they give you because if you don't your hands will turn orange, along with your knees, elbows, feet, wrists, etc.

If you are thinking about doing it... DO IT! The first time is a trial and error, and I must say my only complaint is I didn't put enough lotion on the palm of my hands and they are kind of yellow, other than that it is WONDERFUL! No streaks, it didn't make me turn orange and it only took a couple minutes. I am so excited that my bpics give me a reason to go 2 more times hahah!

Wonderful Weekend

I GOT TO REGISTER!!!

Seriously the most exciting thing ever! It's finally becoming a little more real! Ok, back to my weekend:

Saturday: Finished invitations YAY! I have everything done except the outside thing because I'm waiting on my ribbon to come in. Man that was a big weight lifted! It took FOREVER! I went and took my little ceremony, reception, & rsvp inserts up to kinkos to have them cut... $25 later I'm on my way home and realize that I have to re-cut about half of them because they were cut wrong! Oh well... at least they are done now!

Sunday: Pretty much lazy day, we got to go over to FI's best mans house and see their baby room. AGAIN NOT HELPING MY BABY CRAVINGS!!! haha She is about to pop and I think I'm more excited for her than she is. Only 3 weeks and we get to meet baby Atticus!

Monday: Register!!! We went to Sears so FI could get all his manly things haha We registered for the most outrageous things but it was fun! We asked for a big tv, surround sound, a bunch of kitchen aide stuff (or however you spell it) more tools than we will ever use, a bbq pit, and then the regular bathroom, kitchen stuff. It was a blast! I'm hoping we can go to Bed Bath & Beyond tonight to finish up our last place. I seriously want my wedding to hurry up and get here so I can have a shower haha!

That... Just... Happened...

So I haven't seen one of my brothers since before last Christmas and my other brother and sister I haven't seen since last May, which was the last time I spoke with my father.

Yesterday my brother told me he had a football game so I decided I'd go... I miss him so much, we were like best friends before I moved out. Now FH has never met my father and I was trying really hard not to run into him so I wouldn't have to deal with the confrontation. I made it all the way to the end of the game... I got my brother's attention and we were talking after the game and low & behold dear ol' daddy walks over so Pat and I start walking back to his car and he calls my name... ugh!

I stop, he walks over, I said "This is my fiance, Pat. Pat this is Alan, my father." He looks at Pat and said "What's good brother?"... ARE YOU KIDDING? THIS IS GOING TO BE YOUR SON IN LAW, IT'S THE FIRST TIME YOU ARE MEETING HIM AND THIS IS WHAT YOU SAY?!?!? He then proceeds to tell me I look good, it was nice of me to come to my brother's game, and ask Pat where he goes to school. THAT'S IT! We say our good-byes and walk away.

I have more in depth conversations with strangers. This is supposed to be my father and instead he acts like we were just old neighbors or something. I am glad I ran into him, it only makes my disgust stronger and reassures me that I made the right decision, one that I won't regret. I am also glad Pat got to meet him, so he finally knows what I'm talking about because few people can even imagine what kind of person he is...

Ya know... at first I wanted to think that he cared about his little girl getting married but I really don't believe he does... at all. He never tried to contact me when he found out I was engaged, ok, I'll let that one slide because he doesn't have my number. But then last night he didn't ask to see the ring, ask when we were getting married, no congratulations, absolutely NO questions about anything. So I'm done... any thought about trying to make up is gone. Ugh what a crappy night...

Just because I'm bored

1. Link to the person who tagged you

2. Post the rules to your blog

3. Write 6 random things about yourself.

Ok so I wasn't really tagged... it was on Aimee's blog and I don't have anything better to do so... here goes:

1. I have moved on average once per year! I am 21 and have moved about 25 times, and no, my father nor mother was in the military.

2. I have to have my closet organized by color and style of clothes. For example: First I have light to dark tank tops, then light to dark short sleeves, then light to dark long sleeves, then light to dark sweatshirts and then I repeat that pattern with my work clothes.

3. I own a 4-5 ft. long ball python who loves to watch tv with me.

4. I can probably burp better than anyone you've ever heard, and I probably shouldn't be admitting that.

5. I don't like any foods that stink while they are cooking. If the food doesn't smell good in the kitchen while cooking... I'm not eating it!

6. Whenever I watch tv or am in a car that has volume levels by numbers, I MUST stop on a number that is divisible by 5.

I am beginning to think I'm crazy...

So at the beginning of this whole wedding thing I knew I wanted something a little different for my invitations... well maybe not necessiarly different... I just knew exactly what I wanted. So my mom was like 'well why don't you just make them yourself' GREAT! I thought... I can have everything I want and then buy pieces when I have the time/money to work on them.

BIG MISTAKE!!!

I am DIY 150 pocket fold invitations... and when I say DIY I mean everything... even the actual pocket folds themselves! Crazy I know! I finally went out this past weekend and bought the majority of the stuff to make them and thought tonight would be the perfect time to work on them since Pat is at work until 10.

So I had all 50 sheets of Strathmore (sp?) paper in my car to take it to Fedex/Kinkos for them to cut into 19 x 6 inch strips. I called Kinkos... they don't have a paper cutter big enough to handle poster board size paper. Ok, so I'll call UPS... negative as well. Mail Depot in O'Fallon? (yes I was going to make the almost hour drive to have some freakin paper cut!) Nope, they can't do it either. My last resort was Artmart and to my suprise if I went in and cut it myself it was free! Yay for saving money!!!

So after work I go and cut 20 pieces, which makes 60 strips to assemble into pocket folds. I decided I didn't want to do all 50 Strathmore sheets at once b/c that would take too much time... Anywho, I cut my paper and 30 minutes later am on my way home. I moved my kitchen table in the living room to work on the assembling and there I sat

and sat

and sat

and sat some more working on these darn things! I worked on them from 6 to 10 with a little break to get something to eat and I only got 60 done! I HAVE 90 LEFT TO DO!!! Plus printing all 3 insert cards, the vellum with our monogram, the actual announcement, putting the ribbon on the front and the list goes on and on and on! If anyone is wanting to DIY pocket fold invitations... trust me when I say buy the pocket folds already made... yes it is more expensive but you will save yourself 10 hours per 150 of them that you do!

With that being said I cannot wait until I'm done with them all together and get to tell everyone 'look what I made!'

I've made the decision

I went to college for a while right after highschool and then family issues came up and I moved in with Alan (bio-dad) and long story short I ended up getting a place of my own which meant getting a full time job and no school :o(

Well this past summer I took a class (microeconomics... YUCK!) and then decided that I really want to finish my degree... I mean there is no use in wasting all that money, right? I've been going back and forth between accounting and teaching and drum roll please.... I am 90% sure I'm going into teaching!

I would love to teach high school algebra or calc... something along those lines because I love math and would love to teach something that can be thought of as being difficult in a way that everyone can learn it! I have a lot of work to do to get there though but that's ok!

I'm also debating on going back to school full time when soon to be hubby graduates and gets a full time job but we'll see... One step at a time... but this is my goal and I cannot wait to complete it!

I told my little brother last night and he was so excited and wants me to be his hs math teacher b/c by the time I'm done with school he'll be in high school! He's so darn cute!

You've gotta be kidding

So I went shopping today for bpic outfits... not my best idea! First I walked into VS and about died when I saw the prices haha Next stop was Charlotte Russe, and to my surprise they didn't have any corsets!!! UGH! I did find one top that I kinda liked but didn't end up buying it because I didn't 'love' it. It was a depressing day :o(

Yesterday I did however buy the cutest tank top I made on customizedgirl.com. It's black and says 'Property of Patrick' on top and at the bottom it says 'est 03-06-09'. So at least I have that to wear for bpics.

On a positive note I went to Artmart today and got a bunch of paper for my invitations! The only down side is how many different cool ideas I got from all the stuff at that store. I need to just stick to my original plan but I know as soon as fiance comes home I'm going to drag him up to Artmart to get his opinion hahaha Gotta love wedding planning!

things that make me laugh

Good Night!

My Name's Forrest, Forrest Gump

I really forgot how much I love this movie, and the older I get, the more I agree with Mr. Gump's life view.

You really never know what's around the corner. One minute you could be happy in your own little bubble and the next you could find out that life isn't as simple as you once thought.

Sometimes I wish things would go back to how they were when we were kids. You didn't have to worry about anything, no bills, no working, you weren't ever really in any family drama... life was simple. I wish I didn't have to make the choices that I do because ultimately they affect the rest of my life.

For those of you that read about my bio dad drama on the wedding board then you have a little knowledge of what I'm talking about. I was talking with the fiance about it a couple weeks ago and I realize I am more confused now than I was when it first happened! One thing I am NOT confused about... I miss my siblings more than they will ever know and I just hope one day they will forgive me.

Baby Fever

I really want a baby. I know I'm crazy but hey at least I know what I'm getting myself into. My brother & sister were born when I was 11 & 13, so I kinda know what to expect.

Let me say that it's all my friend Nikki's fault! Tim, Nikki's husband, is my fiance's best friend so naturally I became friends with them. They have been married for a little less than 2 years and Nikki is now preggers and about to pop. Sunday we went to her baby shower which sooo didn't help my baby cravings!!

I am definitely going to wait until I'm married and would really like to be in a house with an actual career but since I'm totally impatient I don't know if I can wait that long. Pat a.k.a. fiance really wants to have a house. I totally agree with him but I'm going to have to wait until AT LEAST NEXT Christmas time before our home ownership dreams become reality!

I never thought I'd be 'mom' material... I really don't like kids in general but I can't help wanting a kid of my own. One to spoil, show off, and take embarrassing pictures of to show their significant others in the future haha Maybe I should go babysit like 6 kids, maybe that would help curve my craving!

w00t w00t 1st Blog

I finally decided that this whole blog thing might be a good idea... one more thing for me to get addicted to on the interwebz! I know at times I can get a little overwhelmed with everything that goes on around me and this is going to be my place to vent. On to more happy things...

I can't believe it is a little over 6 months until I get married! eek! Sometimes I think we just aren't old enough to take this step but he is the one for me! It doesn't matter if we are 20 or 30 he is always going to be my other half so why not get our life together started as soon as possible? After all the bad relationships I've gone through (I'm sure everyone has their horror stories!) I appreciate Pat even more because he truly puts me first... a feeling I never felt until I met him! Wow I'm sounding like a corny Hallmark card now! I better stop myself before I get sick haha

So far we have:

Photographer- Jodi Life-in-Print

Band- Top Notch

Church- Hanley Rd. Baptist Church

Reception Hall- Hendris

My dress- Davids Bridal

Tuxes- Savvi

Ok now seeing the list kinda freaks me out because it doesn't seem like we have that much done ahhhh!!!! I'm starting on invitations this weekend. We are, or should I say I am, DIY pocket fold invitations. Our colors are black and pool, which I love! Well I really wanted black and orange but I didn't want my BM to look like pumpkins so I decided against it.
OMG I almost forgot about what an amazing time I had last night! I went out to eat/drink (ok mainly drink) with 5 b-pic girls and our photographer. I had previously told my wonderful FI that I'd probably be home around 8ish, partly because I have a fear of being around strangers, and here I come in the door around 10. Let's just say he was little upset that I hadn't called to let him know I would be later. However, I just couldn't help myself. I was having so much fun with the 3 girls that stayed... ohhh and our waitress, she was the topic of conversation at our table with her little chicken head bob, funny facial expressions, and groovy dance moves, we couldn't help but laugh. So thank you girls for sharing some drinks and laughs!
